¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Welcome once again!  For those of you that prefer to read this from the Web, you can find this issue at http://www.sregora.com/quilting/QPV1N5.html.

Fall has certainly hit my neck of the woods.  The leaves on the trees are changing colors and it's absolutely beautiful driving in the hills and mountains around me.  Which prompted me to do the October Block of the Month.  :)

As I said in the last edition, this newsletter is going to be published on a monthly basis, unless I have updates around the 19th.  So, the gist of it is published around the 5th and updates on the 19th, if there are any.  So, don't expect two full editions every month anymore.  I'm making quilting time!

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The Mystery Quilt.  What can I say?  It's finished, the results are coming in and they are spectacular!  I've added them to the Gallery, at http://sregora.com/quilting/gallery/,   and will continue to update that page as more pictures arrive.  I can't think of enough adjectives to describe them:  Stunning, gorgeous, beautiful, striking!   Take a peek and you'll see what I mean.

This MQ project is now closed, so I am not taking any more subscriptions for it, however keep reading to see about other mysteries that are unfolding.

«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»«¤»¥«¤»     MYSTERY PROJECT 2
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Mystery Quilt 2 is underway. This one is all being done via the Web, so there is no subscription necessary for this quilt.  It's a multi-functional project in that there are many options along the way.  The end result can either be a school-related wallhanging OR a cute baby quilt.  How's that for versatility?  It begins on  http://www.sregora.com/quilting/MQ2/ and ends (hopefully) sometime before Thanksgiving... in time for those making it as a gift for a teacher for Christmas.  Two blocks have been done so far, but neither are hard to do and take hardly any time at all to make.

Let me know if you're doing this with me (I'm making a baby quilt!).   I'd love to hear from you if you are.

«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»«¤»¥«¤»     MYSTERY PROJECT 3
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Mystery Quilt 3 is a quick project, hopefully to be completed in 3 easy lessons, all by the middle of October!  It's Halloween-related and is a simple wallhanging that measures approximately 22" x 24".  Instructions for this are going out via e-mail, so if you aren't on my MQ mailing list, and would like to be, please send me e-mail with "MQ Subscribe" in the subject area.  The first lesson of this mini-project goes out this weekend.  It's mostly piecing, but with some optional appliqué.  I hope to see you participating!

«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»«¤»¥«¤»     FREE PATTERNS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
I've slowed down in adding new patterns, but I've added about 50 or so in the past couple of  weeks.  I am still collecting new pattern links for the "Patriotic" page, so if you have a favorite pattern to link that would fit under that category, please send me the address.  To see the free patterns, begin at http://sregora.com/quilting/freepats.html by selecting the "Patriotic" link.

Remember the paper-pieced flag I announced last time,  Flag of Hope?  I've received so many compliments on it at work!  It looks so much more difficult than it actually was.  I love it when that happens!  The pattern is still accessible off of the main page of my Web site, plus I've also added a vertical version of it.

If you have a favorite pattern on the Internet that I don't have listed, please send me the address and I'll add it as soon as I can.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This month, I'm featuring a cute Halloween project from the Home Sewing Association.  I have it listed at  http://www.sregora.com/quilting/projects.html#holiday and it's called "Bat Table Runner".  It's very cute and looks easy and quick.  Just what I like:  Great look, minimal effort!

«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»«¤»¥«¤»     OPINIONS and/or REVIEWS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Just a few opinions this time:

"I can't wait to get and start using this!." -- Linda (In reference to the QuiltSheets mentioned in a previous edition!)

"Is there a way to make your school Wallhanging instructions to fit the page so they will print out correctly?" - Jan (Yes, I changed the margins on the Web page so that they should fit on the regular width of paper now!  I hadn't realized I'd made them landscape instead of portrait.   Thanks for the heads up!)

"Keep the newsletters coming.  You give me so much information and so many things to do that I can't keep up!  How do you do it?" - Susan, Texas (I sleep very little.  ;)

Do you have an opinion or suggestion you'd like to share?  If so, let me know!

«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»«¤»¥«¤»    SREG'S BLOCK OF THE MONTH (BOM)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Turning Leaf  is my October BOM.  It's a very simple, three-dimensional pieced pattern that I think would make a great quilt from scraps of fall colors.  You can read about this quilt at http://www.sregora.com/quilting/bom as soon as it's finished (which should be later this weekend).   I've added several different layouts so that you can get a good idea of what it has the potential to do.  This is a common pattern with an added twist that I've never seen before; one that is quite easy, I might add.  The EQ4 project file will be available early next week, so if you'd like a copy of the project, just let me know.

As usual, insert the necessary copyright notice here.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The Quilting Passion Forum is doing very well!  It can be found at http://forums.about.com/n/main.asp?webtag=quiltingpassion&nav=start and if you haven't visited yet, please feel free to do so.  It's free and we have several discussions and swaps going on.

One of the swaps is the Americana Rail Fence swap.  It's an international swap and so far, we have 38 participants from all over the world.   We're taking sign-ups for this swap until October 10th, so if you're interested in seeing if your state (or country!) is available, please contact me.  We'd love to have you on board for this fabulous quilt.  You can read more about it at http://sregora.com/quilting/swaps/americana/.
