Drawings are held
on a monthly basis, on or about the 20th of the month. If
there are more than 25 entries, then the number entered will be
divided into two parts and their will be two winners, instead of
one.
-
Participants cannot
win the FQ Drawing two months in a row.
-
Each Fat Quarter (FQ)
you send in is considered an entry.
-
If you do not wish
to participate in the drawing, you can donate an FQ, up to
six. (Winners of the current month sometimes do this, but it
is not a requirement).
-
The dimensions of a
FQ are approximately 18" x 22". Please make sure
that your FQs are extremely close to this measurement. It's
better to be a bit more than a little less.
To cut a FQ, you
take a yard of fabric and fold it in half, along the 36" edge
(like it comes off the bolt. At times, fabric isn't rolled
onto bolts evenly, so you may have to refold your yard so that the
two outside edges (the selvages) are even. Once you do that,
cut straightly down the fold. You now have two pieces of
fabric that measure approximately 22" x 36". Now,
you fold these two pieces in half, so that the 36" side is
folded. Once folded, cut a straight line down the fold on
the 36" side. Do this to both of the 22" x
36" pieces and you should end up with four pieces of fabric,
measuring approximately 18" x 22". Each of these
is called a Fat Quarter, so one yard of fabric equals four
FQs. You can also purchase pre-cut FQs. :)
-
All FQs must be
100% good quality cotton.
-
The theme/colors
for each month will be listed on the forum and also on our
Web
site.
-
You may enter one
or more FQs, however, there is a limit of six per person.
-
On each FQ entered,
please label it with your real name, forum name, mailing
address, and indicate whether it has been made with pre-washed
fabric or not.
-
Enclose one first
class postage stamp (41¢) with each FQ you send in.
This defrays the cost of sending the winner(s) their FQs.
