Preparing the Binder/Notebook

Personalize your binder/notebook.  This step can be as simple or complex as you want it.  Name it whatever you wish.  Here are a few suggestions:  Quilt Diary, Quilting Journal, A Quilter's Journal, My Quilt Diary, etc.

If you are using a binder that has the plastic pockets on the front and/or back, you can either customize your own front/back cover pages or download mine to use.  The cover pages I offer should print nicely on standard-sized printer paper, 8.5" x 11".  Note:  My name appears on the downloadable image, since I am the author.  There will be templates available to you in future lessons for your name, etc.

It is wise to number your journal, especially if you love to quilt.  You will be surprised how many you could end up with!  I began quilting in 1993 and am now on my fifth journal, shown below.

Did you notice that I no longer use a notebook/binder?  Once this class is completed, you can do yours the same as mine, very inexpensively!  More about that later!

In Lesson 3, I will providing you with some templates so that you can begin assembling the journal.
