Appliqué the Easy Way:  # 203 Syllabus

Class Begins:  Approximately October 1, 2002

 

Class Ends:  Approximately November 30, 2002

 

Class Description:  The class teaches quilters an old traditional way to hand-appliqué, using the button-hole stitch.  The class is geared to all skill levels and at the end of the class, each participating student will have a finished quilt, the size of a wallhanging.  This wallhanging is geared for the Thanksgiving/Fall season.

 

Class Objectives:  1)  To learn basic piecing skills, 2)  To learn basic appliqué skills, 3)  To have a quilted wallhanging finished by the end of the month, October 2002.

 

Class Results:  You should have a finished quilted wallhanging by the end of the month, October 2002 that measures approximately 24” x 28”. 

 

Class Materials Needed:  Pre-washed, 100% Cotton fabrics, Dark/Medium Browns and Golds, Light/Medium Creams and Yellows.  A fat quarter of oranges.  Scraps of Greens.  Double-Sided Light-Weight Fusible Webbing/Interfacing.  Sewing thread.  Black embroidery floss or Size 8 Perle Cotton.
