bullet Swap Etiquette for Quilting Passion Forum

We received 41 blocks, pictured below in two groups (minus the last block!).  Thanks to the efforts and generosity of quilters all over the world, Quilt For The Cure received over 24,000 quilt blocks!

Each year, over 200,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer.  The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (1.800.IMA.WARE) strives to find a cure for this disease by funding new research.  One of the fundraisers for breast cancer research is the auctioning of quilts each year (October 2004), in which all of the net proceeds are donated to the foundation.  These quilts are all put together by volunteers from the blocks that are donated by individuals and/or organizations.

The Quilting Passion Forum is participating in this worthy cause to fight breast cancer this year by making blocks, mailing them to the forum administrator, Sregora, and then having the administrator donate all of them to the fundraising event.  If you wish to have Sregora's mailing address, simply e-mail and ask for it.

Below, you will find the requirements for participation.

bullet Blocks are to be made using 100% cotton fabric.
bullet Unfinished blocks are to be 10.5", which is 10" finished.
bullet Blocks are to be predominantly pink and white.
bullet Piece, appliqué, or embroider the block.
bullet Deadline for submitting blocks to Sregora is April 15th (and the deadline for submitting the blocks to the fundraiser is April 30th).
bullet You can submit any number of blocks that you wish.
bullet You do NOT have to be a member of the forum to donate blocks.

This challenge is sponsored by American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine, Moda, RA, and White.  E-mail apq@meredith.com with questions pertaining to the challenge or sregora@quiltingpassion.com with questions pertaining to this forum-sponsored project.  For information regarding breast health or cancer, refer to http://www.komen.org.

Anyone wishing to mail their blocks directly to the challenge may do so at:

QUILT FOR THE CURE QUILT BLOCK CHALLENGE
1716 Locust St., GA 205
Des Moines, IA   50309

It is important to note that quilt blocks will not be returned, since they are going to be incorporated into quilts that will be auctioned off.
