"What", you say, "a contest at this time of the year?" My reply,
"But, of course!"
This contest will take less than one hour of your time and it is done in
celebration of the patriotic holidays in the month of November,
specifically Election Day on the 7th and Veteran's Day on the 11th.
The guidelines to this contest are simple:
 |
Participants can
make as many blocks as they wish; each block submitted counts
as a separate entry. |
 |
Participants can
use any pattern to make their block. There are some
patriotic patterns on my Web site, some of which are paper-pieced,
that I designed on 09/11, called
Flag of Hope. |
 |
Blocks can be
any size that is a multiple of 2, but no smaller than 4"
finished and no larger than 12" finished. That means, you can
submit a 2", 4", 6", 8", 10", or 12" block or a combination thereof.
How's that for weird? |
 |
Any technique
can be used: Pieced, paper-pieced, foundation-pieced (backing
is muslin, rather than paper), appliqué, or a combination of any of
these. |
 |
All blocks must
have a USA patriotic theme, in honor of Election Day and
Veteran's Day. This means that the colors are red, white,
and blue. You can use patriotic-themed fabrics or simply
use red/white/blue fabrics from your stash. |
 |
This project
begins on November 01, 2006 and ends on November 11, 2006.
|
 |
Deadline:
All blocks must be received by me no later than November 12, 2006! |
 |
Prizes will
be awarded to the top 3 contest winners. WINNERS:
ECUFAN, quiltedgrama, and DebiLohr1 |
 |
All blocks entered
must either be
mailed
to Quilting Passion OR you can take a digital photo of your
block(s) and
send it to me. Blocks that I receive will be used to make
a quilt that will be donated via our
charity project.
If you mail me your block, please make sure that it includes your
forum name! |
 |
If you have any
questions, please do not hesitate to ask! |
